The American Baseball Institute is the most advanced professional baseball training program worldwide. ABI has become the place to go to be seen by major league scouts. It also serves as a pipeline into independent professional baseball and college programs throughout the US.

New Prospects are welcome to join us each Tuesday after 1 PM for our Pre Draft workouts leading up to the  2010 Major League Amateur Draft  June 7-9.

This is also an excellent time for players to secure spots on indy rosters or get placed into a college baseball program.


  1. *Pre Draft Open Tryout May 29th 9 AM registration. Free of charge, open to all players 17 and older. Please fill out and email the player profile found below.


  1. *2010 ABI Summer Classic/ Prospect League June 10 -August 1. Our annual college summer league, combined with professional prospects fine tuning their skills and playing competitive games with the goal of moving on to the professional level. Prospects are welcome to join ABI as soon as they are out of school for the summer.

Free agent tryouts occur often here, as scouts flock to ABI to load up on talent. All 30 major league teams, along with representatives from all 8 independent leagues have scouted ABI. Check the ABI website occasionally for upcoming open tryouts.


The Jan. 30 & 31st open tryout allowed 11 players to sign professional contracts.  Several private tryouts will be held leading up to spring training, as well as the MLB amateur draft... The talent level across the country is down from the past few years, allowing many more opportunities throughout professional baseball.
